If its the 230R that you have in the pictures in your profile you could try to either zip tie it to the cross bar above the number plate, or, using the bolt hole in the middle of the front number plate, you could source a longer bolt to mount a strip of metal or plastic that is wide enough to mount the plate to. The rules say it has to be "conspicuous" - but maybe it doesn't have to be horizontal? You might get a lecture instead of a ticket, but it all depends on who pulls you over for it.
